| | | Venting Anger. A good choice? We all have our ticks and set offs, and we all have our methods of dealing with it our anger. In many cultures people meditate to deal with their anger in a passive way in an attempt to come to terms with one self. While others choose to vent out their frustation verbally or physically. Lately, due to situations of higher than usual stress and complete boredom, the simplest things set me and the more complexe issues cause me to erupt, much to my self-disgust later.
Up until now, I always thought that venting my frustration out verbally was a healthy solution to my temper and a good way to spare my choler to those around me. But recently I have been wondering about the detrimental effects of my venting. Is experiencing your anger really an effective method in reducing it? Or is it a temporary fix? While we are all aware that bottling up ones emotions is never healthy. Does releasing your anger into the world breed more anger to yourself and to those you are venting to? Does venting really abolish the anger inside of us or does it simply appease the monster inside of us, allowling it to swell up once again? |

| | | there are ays to vent verbally without including anyoe else. and no, i dont think it is only an appeasement most times. of course it depends on the person and just how much they ar edealing with and how much anger they have inside them to begin with. there is a reason anger management exists.

think it's just a part of a healthy emotional life rather than some cure for unpleasant emotional states. having a shit ain't a cure for shitting.
if you need to reduce your anger you may need to tackle what is stimulating it

i feel great after full on venting, very alive, but it won't change my life, i have to do that also. i do think it untangles/unburdens my perspective though.

I have been working on trying to change that, though...I've made myself ill from not letting stuff out. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
