Hello KR! I would like to start by saying what a pleasure you have been recently, wonderful.

Anyway, i just booked a holiday (Well not really the holiday the FLIGHTS to Nuremberg) and am planning on spending a few days in Rothenburg and then a few days in Bamberg. Have you ever been to either of these places? Do tell me about it.
Have you ever been to Germany and want to tell me something about it? Please do.

I want to know if you have ever taken the train around these places and have any tips for me FOR EXAMPLE: (i know this is lame)but are the announcements only ever in German? There are 2 trains we could get each time we need to take one and one is much cheaper but you have to change a few times and that seems like it could be a disaster waiting to happen.

I only booked it a couple of days ago so i am still in the planning stages. I have lots of good reading to do....


I'm worried i might actually burst into tears when i see the walls of Rothenburg. So good.




Bamberg

I was only in Germany for a tiny while and only in Berlin but the announcements were sometimes in anglais and sometimes not.

in Germany I liked the polizia the best.

I always love foreign polizias.

The announcements to those places were in German but it was easy to find, you just see the name of the station and get out. Get the train that is straightforward, peace of mind is worth a few more dollars.

I've already sent you my recommendations, rauchbier! Mmm. I might even have the card of the good taxi driver I found in Bamberg somewhere, I will check. Also Altenburg Fortress. Was up there after walking up the hill in the heat to get there and drinking a lovely beer when Falco came on the radio. So many nice memories of Bamberg. You needdddd to stay in the apartment I sent you! I wandered around those gardens in Bamberg and saw a man wearing actual leiderhosen and almost jizzed in my pants. Tried to convince boyfriend to wear them but he said he's too traumatised by his mother making him wear them to his first day of kindergarten.
