I used to be a member here a while ago. I remember that a lot of people here are from the Northwest so I figured I'd ask you guys some questions about the area.

I am thinking about moving to Washington next summer. I live in Austin, currently. I was hoping to get any advice people have on the area. I've been there many times before, but never looking to move there, so I need a lot of information before I consider moving.

I would probably not move to Seattle since it's too expensive, but Tacoma and SeaTac are cheaper than here in Austin. Though I'm worried about the crime. So I'm wondering if anyone knows of affordable, safe neighborhoods in either of those locations. Also, if you have any information about what towns have good jobs, especially serving jobs or bartending jobs (not sure, do you have to be 21 to bartend in Washington? You don't in Texas.)

I appreciate any information you can give me.

my boyfriend lives in Bothell, which is just about an hour's drive from tacoma. and i'm in bremerton, which is 20 minutes from tacoma, but on the other side of it. i'm across the water from seattle. i like it here though. seattle is great, and there are a few other places i've seen in the year that i've been here that i enjoy. it rains a lot, but i like it.

anyone else in seattle or nearby?
