I am going to Cardiff for a couple of days in August. I would love to hunt down the manics, hehe. BUt I was wondering whether anyone knows whats the best places to go to and where the rock clubs are and best places to eat for a veggie/vegan and where to avoid?

Hehe, I did that in February. It was cold... there's a nice little hostel near the station called Cardiff Backpacker, if that helps.

There was a horde of Manics fans outside HMV the last time I was there, it was the weekend Nicky was promoting his solo album. I wish I'd taken a photo.

Other than last I was there Cardiff isn't too great for rock/alt nights. Metros is very cheap but the layout is horrible. I think Swansea has a much stronger alternative scene.

in high st arcade there is a ballet/dancing shop where nicky wire gets his feather boas from, haha

and you HAVE to go to spillers too obviously

cardiff isnt amazing for vegan/veggie food, but cafe europa opposite the castle, crumbs (in morgan arcade i think) and cathays community centre (has a vegetarian cafe) all have vegan options
