| | | My mother has been there quite a few times. I'll ask her later. Oh yeah, also my best friend's sister told me that there were a lot of homeless guys asking for money on the street there, and they end up stealing your wallet if you're not careful? lol I don't know. |

| | I'm pretty sure the whole city of Prague is a landmark in itself, although it's meant to have become fairly commercialized now that every hollywood blockbuster that wanted a Ye Olde' look to it was shot there.
that being said, czech people are fucking hot |

| | | no i haven't but i'd love to go - my mother's family are czech.
i've heard though that you can buy wine in a can from gas stations, the strip clubs are awesome, and the gay porn is second to none. so have fun.

| | | Been there 3 times, it's ace! Generally everything is dirt cheap, the city is gorgeous (it's a bit like an eastern version of Copenhagen). The main shopping street is Vaclavska Namesti, which is a rather large avenue. You can get really cheap guided tours in several languages. Whatever you do avoid some of the more obvious tourist traps like blacklight theatre. I'm sure some of it is good, but after watching a 2 hour sock puppet rendition of Cats, I really started doubting it.
Hotels aren't very expensive either. It's pretty easy to get around by foot. If you want to venture out of the city for a while The Bohemian Paradise is STUNNING. |

| | | it's like disneyland tourists everywhere! i've heard that florence is the same way. it doesnt feel like a real city unless you are in the more local neighborhoods outside of the city center, which is admittedly picture perfect.
people told us to go sightseeing at dawn because that would be the only time to have the city to ourselves, but we were always hungover from drinking 5 liters of beer the night before
you can pretty much see all the sights by just walking around the city center, which isn't very big. totally walkable.
good beer is cheap, like 30 koruny for a half liter of budvar (aboiut $1.50US)
we saw some pickpockets in action on the metro. there was a group of like 8 teenage hoodlums and they all teamed up and created a diversion, then stole a louis vuitton wallet from a tourist. she got off the train and they all descended like vultures on the wallet and split up the money. so yeah.. keep that fanny pack strapped tightly in place |

| | Yeah, be prepared for hordes of tourists in the town centre, I've read that it is pretty much heavy year-round for tourists, there isn't much of a quiet time to be there. I went during Easter time last year and it was pretty crowded.
I didn't notice problems with pickpockets at all, but I'm usually fairly on-guard. Same story as anywhere really, keep shit zipped closed and close to your body, you shouldn't have problems.
Food and drink is crazy cheap, a little goes a long way with money. Although I didn't find the clothes there were particularly cheap, but then I tended towards the shops I'm familiar with from back home which probably explains that.
Like seventeen says, most of the main touristy sights are around the centre or within walking distance from there. You can get around on the metro if you're lazy, though.
And like tomsk says, you're bound to see your typical British stag/hen revellers getting pissed up in their ridiculous matching outfits. Steer clear of them, they're probably trouble.

| | Enjoy the dealers/pimps at every single corner of the city, they were my fave attraction
I loved loved loved the Jewish quarter, esp the cemetery. Kafka's house, the castle, Charles bridge, the big astronomical clock and Wenceslas square are a must as well.
God I'd love to go back but I heard it's gone a bit shit after joining the EU
