| | Amtrak bus from Seattle to Vancouver BC? I am just wondering if anyone here has traveled from Seattle to Vancouver this way... I would be taking the train to Seattle from Portland and I'd rather not drive or have someone drive me, so I'm considering taking the Amtrak "Thruway" bus the rest of the way. I wouldn't be doing it all in one trip, I'm planning to spend some time in Seattle and then move on to Vancouver. But I'm wondering if the bus would just be too uncomfortable, gross, etc. to deal with. My experience with Amtrak buses is that they're clean and well-kept, with better company than Greyhound buses, but this would be a longer trip than I've ever taken on one (3-4 hours vs. 1 hour). Thanks! |

| | Yeah, I've taken Greyhound from Portland to Vancouver, and you can survive it. It's not that bad. Ohhh I really like Vancouver. |

| | | the only problem I found with Amtrak is they don't leave a lot of time for checking baggage if you're having to transfer buses.. that's why my roommate and I are going greyhound instead of amtrak bus/train/bus from Vancouver to S.F. But if that's a non-issue, then both are quite lovely, for a bus anyway. |

| | | I liked it. The bus was clean, half empty and the ride was smooth. And what Cherrynebs said is accurate, its a 3 hour trip. |

| | | I didn`t use Amtrack but I took a different bus that was 3 hours and pretty good. The only delay was when we stopped at customs as a few people on the bus didn`t have al of their paperwork ready.
The bus started at the Vancouver Airport and went to one hotel...then drove to the border...then to a hotel in Seattle near the space needle. |

| | Thanks for all the replies! I'm not concerned with the length of the trip but mainly the condition of the bus, so this is reassuring | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
