| | | I dunno where I ended up in Barcelona, but it sure as fuck had never seen a tourist before! It wasn't even terribly far from my hostel, it just wasn't off the main street. I stayed near the gothic cathedral thing and you go through the windy lanes and get lost. In there is awesome, regardless of whether it's touristy, it's still pretty cheap to eat there. Like 10 euro for enough food to tide you over for days and booze to get you shitfaced. |

| | If you can find a way, then you HAVE to get transport out to Cuenca. Cuenca is a town built on a cliff, and it's so breath takingly beautiful. There's also a fantastic modern Spanish art gallery there. You have to travel out through Spanish countryside and you go over hills and past orange tree fields, it's worth it for that alone!
The best thing I found with Madrid, was to just wonder round back streets. I went on a study trip there, and we stumbled across a TINY bar (with a dodgy curtained cellar) which was ran by a really friendly couple who gave us free drinks on our last night, because we'd brought so much custom over the previous week. |

| | | i hate madrid with a violent passion. everything about that fucking place makes my skin crawl.
it's very pretty though. and a lot of the reasons I have for hating it are personal. you'll have a good time, go to barca though.

| | | sad that the only place i ever took precautions about my wallet and purse was spain. i started to carry my debit card in my bra. ahahaha. i ran across too many people who were left penniless after their purse was stolen.
your pictures are really fun by the way.
