Question I'm going to live in San Diego...

... For a while!

I got the news today. I don't know yet if I'm leaving in April or in May but I do know I'm going...

How is it like there?
How's the living?
How are the people?
How's the scene? The night life?

I've never lived in California before, I know nothing about the city yet... I know no one from San Diego, It's a fucking big Première.

Could you please tell me everything I need to know... Gosh... I'm so excited!

Who's from SD?

Thank you

i personally don't like san diego
but i have friends who think its fabulous and are going to attempt to convince me otherwise sometime soon

despite it being a bordertown is kinda upscale and white white. 'course you have place like chula vista and san ysidro that even it out.
the beaches there are really nice. downtown is pretty neat (though ive hardly gone...i have family there so i just go to the residential areas). one of the few or only places in socal that drinking on the beach is allowed.

oh and you have camp pendelton nearby....so sd houses a lot of military families (like some of my relatives )

I was only there for a day but I want more. I loved it. I actually thought it was going to be really white and pretty with not much else going on but I was pleasantly surprised by how truly diverse and weird and gorgeous it was. I didn't spend enough time there to say I could live there but I would definitely go back for longer. The neighborhood of North Beach, comes right after Balboa Park on the bus, seems to be bustiling and not too nauseatingly hipsterish (meaning: has cute shops and restaurants and lots of 20-something but isn't through the roof expensive and entirely without character). They had a nice music fest going and a really good vegetarian restaurant there called Veg n Out, which me, the non-veggie, loved.

Oh, and I like their trollies. And, of course, the weather is so amazing. It's by water. I mean, it definitely has plenty going for it.

Basically, I'm in love with Southern California right now. I've been daydreaming of it all day. I spent a week in LA, Long Beach and San Diego with the boyfriend earlier this month and we didn't want to come back east.

I live about 50 miles up the coast from SD.

It's alright, I mean, I've spent weekends there before.
It's a nice climate, on the water, etc.

There's the Gas Lamp Dist. I believe there's 'night life' stuff over there.
There's a decent outdoor type mall on Friars Rd.

I know a couple people that live there, I'd ask them, but they are beyond dull, so they probably just sit at home & play W.O.W. & would be no help anyways.
