I use a pick when i play guitar and bass, but I do it with my thumb and my middle finger. My friend saw this and said that it was wrong and you're supposed to pick with your thumb and your index finger. I think he's wrong because my way is just more natural to me. I'm not a great musician (yet?) and he's a lot more experienced than i am, so i'm just curious.

who's right? is there a "right" answer?

I always prefer holding a pick with my thumb and middle finger, index feels too weird, as if I was using my left hand to strum or something. Unless, of course I'm not using a pick, in which case I play rhythmn much better and use my index ;/.

I think the traditional and "right" way is the way your friend does it, I think I once met someone who turned the pick around and played the duller edge of it, so I guess it's all a matter of preference.

Or you can just have your doctor check your prostate for you, guys.
