Studio Programs

Essentially I'm looking for a simple home studio program for my pc thats easy to get the hang of, something that will let me record guitar and vocal tracks and create drum tracks.

Any recommendations?

Doesn't look like it works with VST though, according to what I read down the bottom.

I would recommend one of the cheaper versions of Cubase, as they work with the more widely-available VST plugin system. I have a non-legit copy of Cubase SX3, and I like it

Well, no, but it was Steinberg that invented VST, so ....

If you need VST then cubase is the way to go

Make sure you have a decent ASIO soundcard too, and you're set.

But he did ask for simple ....

There was a piece of software available on the AtariST years ago, called Notator I think, that was pretty cool. Anyone know if there's a PC equivalent?

Ableton Live, perhaps? You could also get a free version of AcidXpress, too. But those you don't really make the drums, you just paste the loops. Maybe see if Making Waves records these days? That was a good freeware sequencer that did drums and shit.

ableton live is the only thing that looks good enough for me
I like to try and drum with my fingers sounds so ridiculous is fun
i use reason and make horrible tracks everytime I´m mad
I´m gonna compile them and call "horrible music to scare your friends"
