owing to complete skintness, i'm selling my guitar to raise a bit of cash.

the thing is, i know fuck-all about guitars so i have no idea what kinda amount i should be hoping to get for it. so any advice from people who know stuff about guitars would be much appreciated

so. it's a six string squier strat by fender, electric, purple, about six years old but barely used and still good as new (i got it during a short lived i-will-be-the-next-courtney phase when i was about 15 ), complete with a squier amp of the same age and condition. and a black fender strap. ummm...so if anyone knows what sorta prices i should be aiming for, and any other info i should put in the ad...that'd be great.

same thing happened to me, i bought a guitar and amp and everything when i was a courtney tard but then grew out of it and realized "hey, i can get some money instead of letting it collect dust".

i have yet to cash it in, but a friend tells me that Guitar Center will take used guitars and give you however much money it's worth. that or ebay. and also, when you have the whole package, like with the amp and everything, ebay would be a good deal i think.

Sell it privately, you'll get more than if you take it to a pawn shop type thing.

If you're not desperate for the money this minute I'd advise you to Ebay it, a guitar shop will use an unusual finish as an excuse to barter you down. Alternatively stick it in your local listings and some parent will buy it as their kid's first guitar. Squier strats are good beginner guitars, if it's in decent condition you're looking at £70-90 second hand.

No idea about the amp, I'd need more details about wattage etc.
