| | | Do I want this guitar? Aka help me decide.
Mexican strat, £299. Looked to be in good condition and plays well. Didn't get a chance to hear it but I can go back during the week - not sure what's going on with that bridge pickup.
My current main guitar is a Les Paul, but if I'm honest it doesn't suit my playing style anymore. I was going to get my S1 refitted with P90s or maybe something more exotic but I saw this and had the sudden urge to buy it. |

| | | I was also hoping for a non-muso opinion on whether it looks ok. I'm not sure how much of a 'me' guitar it is. I mean, it's a mexican strat so its sound isn't going to be a surprise (the mystery bridge pickup aside). |

| | | Do Mexican strats play Mexican music? Or are they just, you know, spicier? |

| They're made by a higher class of slave labour.
...anyway, I was under the impression they were normally £400-450 but shopping around it's a pretty average price so I won't bother. This thread leaves me glad I have some impulse control. |

| | | Brian, if you ever decide to sell that Les Paul, lemme know how much you'd be thinking of selling it for, its about time I got myself one. |

| | | Thanks Stu, but I don't honestly think I could ever part with my Les Paul. I actually got it cleaned up and re set-up with January bonus, apparently I've been very lucky with it (stdio models are a complete crapshoot, which makes sense) The bloke who owned the shop said either hang on to it for life and look after it or sell it for some serious money.
Actually I hope it can't see this thread from over there, I don't want it to find out I ever thought about cheating on it with a cheaper model.

| | You should buy it to piss on it. Then after you've done that you could get a real guitar, like a Rickenbacker! |

| | | Piss on it? Seriously, that's a bit odd. I suppose I could try and claim Jimi Hendrix passed out over it and lost bladder control and flog it to some idiot for 5x the price, otherwise...WTF?
Rickenbackers are nice guitars but they don't suit my playing style at all, I need something lighter & brighter.

| | | Argh, let's be clear - I'M NOT BUYING THIS GUITAR ANYMORE! I thought it was a bargain and after checking around it turns out I'm mistaken. I'm going to get one of my old guitars refitted instead.
Can we lock this thread?
