| | | Geeky FX Thread Hey everyone.
I wanna have a geeky guitar/bass/whatever effects chat with you. What do you use? What do you hate?
I'm thinking very seriously about buying an MXR Blue Box this week. It's £60 (which is cheaper than I've seen it anywhere else) and two of my favourite guitarists play them. Does anyone else have one? What do you reckon to it?
I've also recently got hold of a BOSS Heavy Metal box, which is quite cool, really bassy, but kinda clean sounding sometimes.
So yeah, what in your pedal boards?

| | | haven't tried the mxr, the heavy metal sounds shitty and forced + it breaks on high volumes.

| | | Never been too interested in Wah to be honest, but I'm guessing either Vox or Crybaby are the classics to go for, if that's what you want, but I guess it depends on yr budget...
Yeah, I kinda get annoyed with the HM-2, It's hard to get a sound out of it that doesn't sound really 'standard rock', but mostly I use it as a gain and level booster with the Blue Box set really low.I wanna sound like Crispin Gray from Daisy Chainsaw. Havent quite sussed it yet though...Might just add more fuzzboxes haha.

xxx | I have their chorus pedal, which works pretty well for the poppy shit I've been trying to play lately.
How well did the Grilled Cheese hold up? I'm thinking of buying another of their pedals for a friend, along with my old amp...
I want this one but I'm fucking poor. |

| | The Grilled Cheese was weird, good for freaky solos but it was the kinda fuzz you cant actually use if it's not the sixties and you're not playing Spirit In The Sky. Get your friend a Fab Tone, or be cheap and get the little red plastic FAB distortion.
I just traded my Boss HM-2 for a russian Big Muff It kicks majorly.
I want a Dano Black Liquorice now. That's my new aim.
and haha Rocktek distortion. I used to have that little bad boy. Fond lo-fi memories.
