if i were to form a band and make an album could it be done for under 30k and sound somewhat professional?

i could make a good album with a 4 track or a microphone and a laptop. sadly i dont have any oif these items.

i think before worrying about whether you can afford to make an album or not you should worry about actually having songs and people to play them.

Pro Tools + Mac G5 + brains + hiring mics = good record. Also = under 30k and you get to make subsequent records.

Unless of course you have a song that you play on a guitar with only 1 string that's still out of tune. Then. No.

You could also purchase an Alesis HD24 and a mixer for under 8K.

If you're talking studio time, then still yes.
