So why do rational, upstanding people believe in this ****? And more to the point why do so many people suspend logic and facts for idiocy when you can feel just as good and conflicted without religion? Really.

And proof does not equal "Oh, well he simply MUST exist if there's so much evil in the world!" or "Well, Christianity's been around for a while so yeah. Truth."
Also I'm calling total BS on the "I have a good feeling about this" theory as well.

There is no reason to believe in God, there is reason NOT to believe in God, and religion had a profoundly negative effect on the world. I'm tired off people asking me why I don't believe in God, the question is why should I?
