| | | don't you sometimes feel life is a sick joke? Like Amy Winehouse being so blessed in so many ways yet she's so keen on dying and destroying herself that right now she's in a hospital bed with enphizema(sp?) while some children in Africa have nothing in this world and nothing to live for yet they fight with all their might to live. |

| | | Her behaviour is appalling and now she's paying for it. I'm not saying all crack head idiots get retribution, divine or otherwise, but in her case she's definitely seen some consequences.

| | | I think that everyone should appreciate their life and themselves, which I don't think she does very much.
It's her life to live though, and if that's the way she wants to live it...

| | | You haven't compared your own situation to hers yet, which is simulataneously really disappointing and an excellent sign of progress on your part.

Its soulless people who can't feel the pain that others inflict on themselves and then attempt to escape via drugs, casual sex, materialism, social popularity, etc. Of course, sometimes that empathy is a projection of the pain one is inflicting on oneself. It's a cycle, life is-- first we screw up our own lives, then we tell others how to change their lives for the better. I'm guilty of this too. Eventuall we discover its all part of Life's learning curve-- this cycle, this dance of opposites.

| | | Did you all learn about the russian model who killed herself in Manhattan? she was only 20 and apparently was rather succesful. She was most famous for her Nina Ricci comercials.
Well that's another example. You've got this girl who is incredibly beautifu, young, succesful, she has one of the most glamorous and desired professions in the world, she has a life that most people dream about but seldom experience, and without notice or warning she kills herself.
And everyone is so sad about it and feeling sympathetic but I'm sure they are just saying that because she was young and pretty and succesful. They wouldn't think the same if for instance, I decide to kill myselof, but that's another topic.
Her case has intrigued me, I mean what could possibly be wrong with her life? I read excerpts from her blog and they were all about love. I guess she was heartbroken from what it seems but c'mon, why kill yourself? It's not for me to judge her but I can't help to think about children in Africa or people who really have miserable lives not worth living and they still manage to go ahead and live. And that just makes me go like fuck you for daring to kill yourself bitch. I mean how dare she?? you know?? People keep saying it's such a waste and it is, what a waste that such beauty and talents and such a life was bestowed upon her.
I think that is were spirituality comes in. If you have a strong spiritual self, I think that can literally save your life.
I've thought about suicide many times but my spiritual beliefs and what I've learned spirituallywise always stops me from developing those suicidal thoughts into suicidal actions. Because suicide is like the worst experience a soul can go through, it's worse than hell and it's a sin against life.
A few days ago I read about this actress at the beginning of the XX century called Peg Entwhistle or something. Anyway she was a broadway actress during the depression and her career reached adead end. So she went to Hollywood to try to get into pictures and her films failed, she tried to go into theater but it didn't work either, so one night she went to the Hollywood sign, climbed the H and threw herself to the abyss and killed herself. They found her body two days later.
But what haunts me about her story is that the day after she died, while her body was still missing, she received a letter in her house from this production company that were offering her the lead part in a play they were producing. And I thought to myself, my god if she had only held on for one more day, who knows what that play could've brought to her?? maybe that part would be her road to stardom and success, maybe it would've been her chance, but she'll never know now.
I guess I feel that it's not up to us to dedice when to die. |
