How do you meditate?

I'm reading a book in which the central character learns all kinda of techniques which calm and ultimatly change her life. How do you meditate and how do you find it effects your life? x

i do it in bed, on my back, usually. i quiet my mind. i also go over the day, plan what i want to do. and speculate what i should wear.

i think of all the possibilites and repercussions.

it makes it so i jump out of bed, (after writing in my dream journal, even if it's to say i don't remember) get dressed fast, do what i had planned. it's a lot easier when i plan the whole day the night before.

the point of mediation is to clear the random chaos from your mind.

i usually lie down. my favourite technique is to imagine walking through a forest, i image every tiny detail of the trees, the ground below me, the noises, a stream flowing by. Then i take myself into a big clearing of green grass, i lie there for as long as i need, looking at the sky and clearing my mind. And sometimes i walk to the forest again and wait for my spirit guides to come to me and if/when they do i either ask them a specific question i have or i just ask them if there's anything i need to know.

Might sound a bit wacko, but it really works for me. I dont get time to do it every day, but usually about 3 -4 times per week.

i've heard of this, but asking for your animal spirit guides. does that happen to you as well? idk if they appear to you in a body or not.

the way you described the setting is really good, even w/o the guides, it's good for meditating, to imagine that scene.

i hold and concentrate on a flower, sometimes. if i can do this w/o worrying about getting in trouble, i love to go up to the roof with my mat & look at the sky. or do it in the park.
