| | | Probably true. Whereas they're great as spokesmen in debates (see the activism thread in The Void) because they're less likely to concede their point purely because it's been proven to be gibberish by their opponent.
The study I frequently cite (and should really find a link for) that sought to establish what factors affected happiness used two groups in each geographical/social/cultural area for its results, both asking the person and a group of their friends to say whether they thought they were a happy person, on a scale of 1 to 10 (or something like that, anyway). The study realises that the way one perceives oneself is entirely fallable. |

I'd love to talk more about this but someone has to stick Sophia_ on UI first.

| | | The point is that "introverted" and "extroverted" refer specifically to how someone presents themselves in public. Based on testimony of people who've actually met Soph, he would appear to be very much an extrovert. He calls it "misperception", but there's no way to "misperceive" something that is in itself an abstract concept referring to other people's perceptions.
But yeah, among people who want to appear spiritual, being extrovert is like having AIDS. |

| | | i dunno, spasmachine has pointed out the selection bias involved if you rely on friends' testimonies. introversion/extroversion isn't solely about how you present to others, but your social behaviour in general.
i may socialise once a month and act like the life and soul, but spend the rest of my time preferring to be alone. 29 days out of 30 i'm exhibiting introverted behaviour, but asking my friends how extrovert i am is not going to give this result, unless they realise that when i'm not with them i'm not with anyone.

I'm certainly not going to do it for Sophia_'s sake. |

I can be anti-social.. but I always put the gun back in the wardrobe before going to the shopping mall. | I dunno ... but they do say entertainers can be shy people, often. I'm not sure the psychology of it, why they can go on stage and express emselves without any shyness and then offstage settle back into their regular personality. No I won't say Kurt Cobain! No. Plz not on this board ... Ok, some may take drugs to do it ... but probably most took em anyway. |
