What's to really fear but never knowing one's true self? One must go to the depths of fear, to risk the loss of all material and social wealth, to discover the true wealth of spirit. There are NO leaders to this place.

Sophia and various other screennames - they're quoting themselves.

And this is as good as any for an example of how much they actually know what they're talking about -

Thanks for the help! Now, how about adding something creative to the thread? I don't watch TV and have a poor memory about trivia--so thanks! Did you get any point here worth reflection?

Years ago I was usually one people coulkd count on for all the trivia answers. I watched way, way to much TV and movies, thus I was not living my life day to day to the fullest. Now my wife and I have very little interest in passive entertainment. I find the internet to be much more stimulating and provocative. We prefer biking, hiking, and reading as activities to do together.

There is little I fear of losing in regards to social, financial, material, or status. Simplicity of life and spiritual growth reap an abundance of benefits. In the first part of one's life, knowledge (outside sources of ego-enhancement), has significant value in establishing a normal life; in the second half of life, spiritual growth and wisdom( inner sources of self-knowledge) become far more satisfying than worrying about what one has to lose. Priorities! Unfortunately for many, the outer world dominates a person's interest and they live within the illusion (the matrix). The inner journey can mean a loss of intellectual wealth in exchange for the attainment of spiritual wealth.

I wondered why many of my affluent customers over the years envied my life. I live a simple, satisfied life as an artist/craftsman/handyman--this does not appear to carry any special guarantees of happiness in my view, yet I found many successful people admired my spirit and creative talents. Through the years people would give me their special insights about life and prosperity; I reflected on these gifts of wisdom. Now I share some of my own special insights with those interested in reflecting on their lives.

I am not a perfect man; I have many faults and shortcomings. I see parts of myself in all others and know why we live the way we do, for the most part. I no longer live in the matrix fulltime. I play my part as a handyman and poet with the name of "carefulcarpenter". I have one foot in the inner world and one in the outer world--the intuitive and the rational. I have nothing to lose that has more value than my own self-awareness, therefore as I gradually leave the physical world via aging, I gain entrance into the spiritual through greater clarity and awareness ie. increased frequency of synchronicity and grace. Clarity over knowledge. In the end all will be forgiven and memories will refresh my spirit rather than my ego. I forgive those who trespass against me, for they are learning life as they go. One day they may understand the depths of their own shortcomings.

Thanks for responding! Please make a memorable post in this thread; hopefully not just a clever criticism, but an insightful thought that can inspire others to seek life. Many dead spirits are glued to the boob tuber. The internet offers a new frontier through self-expression and research. Less and less will it be necessary, or impressive, to be a "know it all".

It's not important to know where 'I could have been a contender' comes from. Unless you decide with no outside prompting that you want to quote it, then it's a good example of how you regularly talk about things that you don't know anything about.

I think a blanket generality like that shows an agenda on your part. I got the Brando part, and the facts are easily verified by my detractors, so no deception was intended. It's like finding fault in a person's spelling-- a fault-finder is more focused on petty details than engaging in a reasonable dialog addressing the major topic. Proving me imperfect does not make you perfect.

You've made some fine posts in other threads--maybe you could demonstrate your creative talents in this one. More than reading a creative response, I would enjoy reading your perspective on the topic "the fear of losing everything". The original idea for the thread was from another site where a corporate underling was expressing a lack of interest in the meeting he was attending, so he asked for others to comment. I picked up on the fear he has of losing himself by seeking a higher spiritual path. I think he recognizes a need to chamoflage his real self if he wants to advance in the company. I find that very sad. Why stay in an environment where you fear losing everything by being true to yourself--warts and all?

So the past few days I have been doing some meditation of various sorts, basically practicing spacing off where you become unaware of your environment with your eyes open type of thing. So today I am at this meeting with about 100 people and a guy op on the stage of the auditorium lecturing to us about the state of the company. I had planned on writing down some of my theories on reality during the meeting so I didn't have to listen to the corporate BS for 1.5 hrs, but a friend of mine sat down next to me so I decided I shouldn't go writing my "crazy" ideas down lest he take notice of them and turn me into the company Psyche department. So instead I decided to pretend like I was watching the presenter, but instead practice some more eye open meditation. So from there I am not sure how the events proceeded but after a while I noticed my focus was pretty tight and I was entering an altered state. At some point further along I am still staring at the presenter, and all the sudden I connect with something and all of these memories come flooding back to me, and I suddenly see all the people staring blankly at the presenter as zombies totally deceived like in a 1984 type scenario and I realized that a lot of those books, 1984, a brave new world, Farenhieght 451 weren't warning us about how things might become but how they are. I could "see" what I usually see as the Archon/Lizzie figure that I see as this neon cartoonish creature that is drawn out of jagged triangular shapes. The archon appeared to be looking at the meeting as if the subjagation of creative minds was going as according to plan. At this moment I got a big smile, I think because it was dead clear to me how this is all a game, and the Lizzies are just really good at it. Right now we are duped, and trying to awake. There was no animosity. There is no death, only deception of the mind and they are doing a damn good job on us. Now I can't really tell how clear this message came through and how much I have distorted things from this experience. But the thing about this state is just the intensity of the memories coming through, as to a point I know something very powerful is happening, so much so that it freaks me out to the point where I shut it right off. I can never bring through very much of what I see from that state though. And I doubt what I saw very quickly as the power and clarity of the experience begin to fade.

HCH should definitely fear dying because he's definitely going to go to hell.

But yeah, Soph, WW called you on your quoting for a totally legitimate reason. You constantly use these quotes to bolster your otherwise vapid remarks. It's REALLY not that hard, with an Internet connection, to get them right, or even just not say what you're quoting, so please don't try and turn it around and kvetch at someone. Take it with the good humour you've always exemplified, dig?

I have no idea what the point of this thread was. I'd rather just read everything Soph did this morning before he left the house for the coffee emporium than his generic joojoo.

Over the years I have learned to leave easily discovered mistkes for fault-finders to point out. I do not do this intentionally, other than NOT using a spell-check or double-checking sources. For the most part we know why our detractors are petty and hyper-critical (see Narcissism). My unconscious leaves subtle traps. This has caused me to be conscious of my own inclinations over the years. One must keep a close eye on their own shadow. Just like maintenance of one's email box, a person is wise to deal with things on an immediate basis rather than putting off until tomorrow. The unconscious shadow can end up to be little more than a rubbish pile of lies and misunderstandings which someday come back to interfere with a person's flow. Freudian slips can reveal themselves at very inopportune times. I will have to investigated why my unconscious recalled "A Streetcar Named Desire"--won't I? "Stellaaaaaaaaaa!!"

Maybe WW is my unconscious desire? (shame for an old guy to think of a dynamic young women is such a disgusting and innappropriate manner). Man, if I was only 20 years younger!! (She could really devistate my ego and make a fool of me).

I don't frequent the coffee emporium at this time. I helped a homeless healthcare worker(has to survive with limited government support); she came and lived in our home for 3 1/2 months. In order to assist her I stayed clear of the coffee emporium. I felt there was far too much drama with Rancheria and the Hooligans on the prowl. This woman was not made to feel welcome in the coffee emporium due, I believe, to her religious views.

You read posts from Rancheria, Odin, governmento, so you may understand the climate around there. Ex military personel mixed with a wiccan group dominates the "peaceful and quiet" space. Poets and philosophers were becoming an annoyance there(bad for business), so I decided to let the air clear. I was doing quite a job pitching Kittyradio, yet it seems to have done little to inspire anyone to join us, independently of a group tar and feathering of Sophia_.

My poetry project has delivered much growth and succeess in other areas of my life. This also seems to be an annoyance to some at the emporium. I have many beloved friends that still go there on a regular basis, and I miss them, but they know I love them. I'll be back sometime when I know that my homeless friend will not feel betrayed by me. I associate with, and accept all types, but this woman, with her Christian belief system, is not so willing to embrace "Pagans" and "non-believers". She thought this humble poet was "the savior". Sorry, I am just a common man seeking greater wisdom.

This post or yours was truly worthy of response; for in it is evidence of truth in one of the carefulcarpenter's aphorisms.....

"With courage and compassion, a true friend will tell you what you need to know; whereby others, out of convenience, will tell you what you want to hear"

bluster

fluster

what's funny is you'd like this mistake of yours not to matter, it shouldn't matter, not to a spiritually advanced person such as yourself, but it so so does. your spiritual advancement (whatever that means) is a sham, a pretense
