im currently reading "creativity: unleashing the forces within"
im really gaining a lot of insight from it, more spiritual than a creativity how to, but its all one in the same i suppose.
i find his thoughts to be really uplifting and they put me in a good mental state. dont know much about the dude but ill find out more later

osho used to be known as baghwan shree rajneesh aka the orange people in the 80s in oregon.

i adore his osho zen tarot cards. i got them for my best friend's bday and they rock hardcore (you can see them online) the artist for them actually has a studio here outside melbourne near hanging rock. (elixirca actually was the one who recommended those cards)

i totally do not like the crap he pulled with his cult but i really dig his stuff and messages, though i've yet to read his books. just a shame he couldn't stop himself from getting sucked into materialism and not to mention all the crap he pulled on his followers.

i was briefly in the osho cult when i was 15. my mother joined and i sort of went along too.

he's a fake, but yeah some of the messages where good, and he attracted some good people. his followers were probably among the least controlled and cynical of all cults. however the cult was taken over by a mad bitch called shiela after it moved from india to america and it became seriously fucked up

like recal said, he used to run a cult, first in india then in oregon until he was arrested and deported. his followers were called sanyassins and dressed in orange and red. it was a sort of sex/therapy/new age/zen buddhist mix

was he arrested because his teachings werent catholic/jew based or was he actually deserving of arrest and deportation?

Lawfirm I worked for represented him in some intellectual property lawsuits....I worked on alot of his materials, transcribing his working tapes, etc. I found it very interesting. I didn't realize he was considered a cult.

edit: I see by the locked wiki page that those lawsuits have not been resolved....lol

most definitely a cult, ruby. remarkably similar to $ci, but for the poorer relations. thats not to say its cheap bc it isnt, but its cheaper than $ci!

oh god landmark people are $ci lite. seriously.

they have "what is your racket" keep you in some hotel room over a weekend, take tonnes of your money, its basically stealing the $ci's schtick but as weekend courses. my work colleagues husband got involved in that and they would hassle and harass him and her to do more courses.

like $ci's they have ethics officers who sit around the room to watch what everyone does and report on it.

wener ernhard was a former $cientologist who wanted in on a piece of the action. he's taken a lot of $ci stuff and twisted it around to voila his own "intelectual property".

back to osho - i love the philosphy's of his tarot cards. i wouldn't mind reading his books they've been on my amazon wishlist for ages.

Theory: the govt doesn't need to frame religious wackjobs because they usually do some shit themselves. Is it that hard to imagine that someone with the means would try to rig an election, even if some of their philosophy sits with our own and he seems like an okay guy?
