Do you trust Athiests?

So I was watching 30 Days a week or so back and it was on this Atheist woman living with a Christian family for... 30 days haha.
It was pretty interesting, they debated and talked but in the end put their differences aside and were friends.
Anyways, during the show there were a few random facts here and there, and one of them was that Americans trusted Atheists the least out of everyone in the country. They said that they trusted Muslims and other minorities a lot more (not saying that minorities aren't to be trusted! )

Personally, I don't see why I'm not to be trusted just because I don't believe in a higher being.

How do you feel about it? Do you trust Atheists?

I dunno about that haha.
Yeah, I'm an atheist. My parents never pushed religion on my brother and I, so I kind of went along through life analyzing shit and what not and concluded that there is no such thing as god.

i trust atheists because they've had to work out their moral values for themselves, rather than had them inculcated.

with an atheist what you see is what you get, rather than someone pretending to be a religion's version of good, while deep nastiness is formenting beneath

Exclamation The Real Jesus....

What can we all learn about Jesus today?

I bet you think this religious stuff does not apply today....

With all the corruption, drugs, crime going on everyday. It appears more law enforcement personnel are corrupted. Etc…

What I am trying to explain is Jesus was murdered because he lived an honest, uncorrupted life. The corrupted leader of that time did not like thought of someone living a honest good life.

Let take a look at the richest people on earth. You do not get to that level by being a honest person.

I could see not trusting an anarchist or a Nihilist, but who cares about Atheists like that?

I think that the fact that the Atheist knew she was staying with Christians; and the Christians knew they were hosting an Atheist: all aspects of 'reality' were cancelled out.

Here here!
I'd rather talk to someone who thinks for themselves then talk to someone who has a preconceived notion of right and wrong forced on them from the moment they were born.

But we were all born atheist! I love that line. I use it often. It's true.

Pretty much this; I'm more inclined to believe someone who isn't happy to blithely accept a fairytale as a satisfying explanation for our existence.

That said, you do meet self-proclaimed atheists who are just as closed-minded and unthinking as the religious bigots they despise, so using it as a blanket term is probably dangerous. I've got great respect for anyone who's willing to take a position on something after they've had a long, hard think about it, but simply accepting whatever's thrown at you and proceeding to shoot down anything that doesn't conform makes you an idiot, whatever side of the church wall you're sat on.

I'm more inclined to trust atheists because they're relatively unbiased. I'm not including those sheep who cling religiously (hah!) to every word ever farted out by Richard Dawkins.
