Cleetus will become famous soon enough
has philosophy ever actually helped you?

i don't mean helped you in the way that western thought originates from plato or whatever. if that's even correct. or how it influences our laws and civilization. yeah, that's all huge.

but i mean in your day to day life. that still isn't what i mean...

has philosophy ever helped you get over a break up or something like that? and if so, how?
or has it helped you know yourself in any significant way? or make a major decision? has it ever actually aleviated emotional pain?

if i'm verging on pop psych just kick my ass.

i hate my life and i'm seriously considering becoming a student of philosophy and math.
it's saturday night and i think of all the people fucking. and feel left out. so math and reason will be my new friends.

so please tell me how philosophy has improved your life.
that isn't a challenge or anything. i should watch my tone. i'm not getting down on philosophy, i just badly need some examples to keep me going.

most philosophy tends to make me MORE depressed, if anything. i wouldn't go looking to it for emotional stability.

rousseau pretty much ruined happiness for me.

yes it has helped me go through emotional pain in the sense that would occupy my mind making me think about other things besides my stupid little problems and made interested in things that i had never imagined i'd be interested in before.

Animal Rights and atheistic philosophy has certainly made me see the world in a whole new light.
