One of my friends has just got married, and one is about to, and both, alongside their legal, big, family-attended weddings, are having private handfastings.

Are any of you doing similar?

One of my friends has suggested it's a possibility that I perform his handfasting. Any ideas on what I'd do, or how? This is all very scary as I'm a really laid-back, non-committal witch!

Dunno how you do it, but we're having it incorporated into our (Humanist) wedding. I'll post once I've done it!

It seems to be the generic term for a Pagan, neo-Pagan or Wiccan wedding - they often involve different aspects - the invocation of particular Gods, Goddesses or spirits, things like jumping over a besom (broom) for fertility, even blood-bonding.
