without the concept of "good", the concept of "bad" cannot exist.
and vice versa.

for good to be the absence of bad, that would mean that there could be no actions that have elements of both bad and good.
which isn't the case.
a man steals a loaf of bread to feed his starving family.
that is neither wholly good or bad.
they require one another to exist as concepts.
but they can exist in the same action at the same time.
thus, no, i don't think that good is the absence of bad. |
