Evil vs Sick

this is something i hae to write a paper about. in 1992 jeffrey dahmer was found guilty and sane on 15 cunts of murder. but i guess clearly he was mentally ill, not evil. i dont think people can be evil. i have an opinion on the subject, but it only fills about 2 paragraphs. what do you guys think? (about that situation or the question in general) can a human being , born innocent and pure like everyone, be 'evil' or is one driven to disgusting crime by a corruption in either nature or nurture???? opinions?

well to commit such a crime a person must have one big personality disorder. a lot of psychopaths have been detected with the anti social disorder as in they use people for their needs without having any moral sense. so there is definitely a lack of moral sense among crimes like murder. there's many different theories about why a person would go as far as killing someone. I don't know enough about the case to judge if he was sick. all I have to say is that the tests they use to find out if a person is mentally sane are not always accurate. same goes for the tests they make them do to find out the degree of their crime.
oh and I definitely wouldn't classify it as EVIL. it would be more like the person has a moral charge or he/she doesn't type of thing. By the way some theorists that believe in determinism (ex Lombroso) believe that some individuals are actually DOOMED by their genes and personal regression to be criminals. I don't necessarly agree with it but if that would be the case not everyone is exactly born raw they would have predestined attributes

this is why i believe that repression of any form is bad.

this is why i resist religion, because it promotes repression.

in any study like this it's important to examine the childhood of the killer, it's always telling.

addionally, i don't believe in the concept of "good" or "evil".

those are tags or labels invented by human beings.

morality is an entirely subjective manner.

there are animals that kill eachother in nature.

i'm not saying it's okay to kill another human being, because it isn't.

but it certainly isn't "evil".

we are born neither "good" nor "evil". we are born "human".

i believe that nuture has everything to do with the makings of a serial killer.
