helped you to grow?

Kitty radio has made me the interweb loser that I am. I think I have done the opposite of grow. Most of my social life is online. what does that say about the person I am. My last boyfriend was met online. And I thank KR for that, even though I didn't "meet" him here, cuz KR is where I learned the social networking of internet.

I balance my online life with a healthy social life in my local community. I have a few friends now who are gay, that I would not have been able to relate to as well had it not been for online interactions and understandings from reading posts.

I often mention my poetry and the reaction I receive. We've discussed the "Rape" thread in the coffee shop I frequent. People are interested in the reactions from online because people are more likely to react honestly--whereas in a social setting people are much more protective of their persona.

The coffee shop has changed dramatically from me bringing online topics into a setting where we can discuss issues that are troublesome in nature, due to their "offensive nature" (politically incorrect). I can engage people with delicate issues by telling them how much I get bashed. These are people who know me better as a result of my courage to be myself.

Yes...though not in the sense that making a thread or two has made me a better person. Through this site I've just met many people and they have helped me look and think about what I am. Also, I've learnt a lot about other parts of the world (or at least the UK an Australia)...again, not necessarily because someone posted about it, but because certain people are interesting and through their interest I've looked into things on a deeper level. Sometimes I worry that I am an internet tard...but then I remind myself that I actually do function in the 'real world' and I have non-kr friends and I don't think about KR 24/7 or obsess about thread topics. One of the more valuable lessons KR has taught me very directly is to not to take criticism personally...anyone who has been here for a long time learns to dettach eventually. Those who make leaving threads or constantly complain don't seem to grasp the whole dettachment part of being on this site...or on the internet as a whole.

Nope. But it does keep me sane during the working week!
