Is your man tidy?

I dunno what a vacuum cleaner is - but like this woman next to me does so like I saying men really should by nature not do the house work but what is your experience?

Like for me its;

Men: drink alcolhol heavily

Women: clean the house (esp. the skidmarks off the loo)

The only reason why I end up doing ALL the housework is because I cannot stand living in my own filth, men have a higher filth threshold thus can leave it longer. When it comes to fuckign showering he'll do it everyday but when it comes to cleaning anyhting else, couldnt be arsed.

Anyone who thinks it's a man's role is to sit in his own filth until his woman cleans it up for him is a bit too œdipal for comfort, if you ask me. If you want that kind of relationship with a woman, get a maid or move back in with your mother. There's nothing masculine about not being able to do housework, and funnily enough most guys who claim that it's "woman's work" don't know how to do it themselves. It amuses me that this is supposed to indicate male dominance, when really, if the wife wasn't there, they'd be as weak as a kitten.

Awww now, I wasnt being completely fair there.....
lol, he's a better cook than me and in fact very capable but I work 4-6 hours while he works 10 hours a day and has to get up at 5:30 a.m. He works more than I so I just have more time than he to do tidying up. Its just a practical division of labour, nothing to do with gender roles. I hate predudiced people who jump to conclusions about these things.

If you hate people who jump to conclusions, why assume I was even referring to you? Especially since nothing I said applied to your situation!

Obviously there's no problem with a man or woman doing any kind of work if it's more practical for them to do it. But the idea that there is such a thing as "woman's work" is absurd to me, as if there's something masculine about not knowing how to turn on a stove.
