| | | Creation of a god This is just an idea that came to mind. It is mostly an idea for a novel I am writting. The idea is that a divine force wasn't responsible for the creation of man, but that man is responsible for god. Through man, all things become. If you think about it, it isn't a hard concept to grasp. All religions are based on reverance. The more followers a particular belief has, the more powerful it becomes.
Now think about it from this angle. If no humans existed, and no one was around to priase a gods name, would that god exist? Would there be a need for a god? |

| | | Well yes, but the scope that it offers you... I mean, in The X-files it was used to make a mud golem that ensured a planned community conformed to standard by killing rebellious occupants. In the movie Ring, there are strong hints throughout that Sadako exists partly because of the power of the urban legend (although they turned out to be a bit of a blind alley). At the most basic level, Peter Pan's Tinkerbell is brought back from the brink of death only because children believe in fairies.
If you've got the idea of being able to will something - anything - into existence and a solid mythological foundation, the possibilities are only really limited by one's imagination.

Very well put, not like it is going to discourage me in the slightest. I plan on taking it to the higest level (even if it has been done). Another concept came to mind aswell:
God to man is Brain to heart
From a writers stand point, it gives such a wide range to literate |

| | | Wasn't meant to discourage at all. All the good ideas have been done. That's how you know they weren't bad ideas. It's in how you interpret them I guess. For reference, check out "A Picture Of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde and "Dorian" by Will Self. Same plot, completely different novels. |

Maybe I can write some of my ideas and send them to you. You can critic them for me if you like | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
