Humankind was made "in God's image." (Genesis 1:27) That did not mean that Adam resembled God in appearance as we learned God is an invisible spirit. (John 4:24) So God does not have a body of flesh and blood. Being made in God's image meant Adam, and all of us, was created with qualities like those of God, including love, wisdom, justice, and power. We are like God in another important way in that we possess free will where we can choose between right and wrong.

So, we are not machines that are programmed, but we must be dedicated to following the Will of the Lord or go astray from the path by choice and neglect our faith.

This should answer your question why the Lord allows people to suffer. There are many, many more reasons why there is suffering on Earth, but this is the main one - people, like God, have free will, to choose between right and wrong.

Not to get too off track as your post was more of Will. But of G-d being Spirit and we must worship in Truth and in Spirit - G-d is not limited to time and space. When people are born into the Spirit (possessing the Holy Spirit within them), they can commune with G-d anywhere and any place. Spirit being the opposite of Earthly flesh. So true worship if G-d is not in the physical (ie. chanting, idols, rituals, etc.)
So in Truth, meaning worshipping the Holy Jesus Christ (the G-d of Truth) - being in line with G-d and nature in will
and in Spirit meanign anywhere and everywhere; being in constant communication with G-d.

I've felt a real calling to adopt many Jewish mannerisms. I want to start celebrating the feasts and cling more to the culture. I'm in awe of Jews that convert to Christianity.
