Spirituality vs Philosophy?:

Just wondering as it seems to be becoming a theme of late: can the two co-exist?

Seems like one is founded on reason and the other on intuition, and that's surely going to cause some compatability problems.

DiscΩss.

yes they can co-exist because the intellect can account for, explore, incorporate and make allowances for the spiritual. the spiritual can provoke, inspire and direct the intellect

huge great wodge of philosophy is not secular. huge great wodge of theologians were educated intellectuals

See, I've never regarded theology as part of religion, and certainly not part of the "spirituality" aspect of it. Theology is based on interpretting the "facts" contained within religious texts in a rational way. It seems like it's studied in the same way as science is, but with the Bible in the place of Isaac Newton's works.

it's a teeny wee bit more than that.

i think you need a good definition of what the spiritual is, else we'll be stumbling around

Half the time I never know what people mean when they refer to spirituality.
