what non-chirstians think
personally im undecided as yet.
I think everything has a purpose and time and place. but abuse and addictions are mis-use as well as using them as a crutch. but whats wrong with smoking a joint and sititing in a field annd appreciating Gods creation |

| | well. I'm not sure what religion I am (see my other thread in this forum), but I do believe in a higher power.
I completely agree with you on what you said about the differece between abuse and addictio and the occasional joint.
You can smoke weed and believe in God.
ok. people are probably getting sick of me and my Ben Harper thing but he's a perfect exampe in this case! He sings about Jesus, the Lord, heaven...and just lots of gospel, but he also has a song about smoking pot. He's the kind of Christian I like: the open-minded liberal kind.
"Herb's the gift, from the earth and what's from the earth is of Jah greatest worth". The original lyrics are "the greatest worth", but live he sometimes sings "Jah". And I completely agree with him.
here's the video of the song live at Bonnarroo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryLqfNwSSFE |

| | | my father in law is a worship leader at his church and he smokes at least once a day. i don't worship or really even believe in god and i don't do drugs. i doesn't really bother me. i prefer that to my step father who was a minister of music at a southern baptist church when he was arrested for molesting a 15 year old student of his. |

| | | in the Bible it talks about not being a drunkard, basically........so, the interpretation I get out of it is this: yes, drugs are bad (meth, crack, heroin, e, etc.).............I don't consider Mary Jane to be harmful, but even that isn't good for everyone.........I do smoke it here and there...........and too much alcohol isn't good for anyone...............I love the Lord and I know he is up there watching everything I do............I pray, he has answered my prayers.....I KNOW he is there for me and for anyone else that wants him, so...........that's my take on the situation. |

God delivered me from alcoholism, drugs AND cigarettes....ALL OF THEM
God is GOOD!
If you want to have a relationship with your Creator, then ask Jesus to show you. God humbly came to the earth He created and died so we could know Him intimately. NOTHING IS BETTER THAN KNOWING GOD and getting Him to show you Himself if life. I'm telling you guys.
Jesus is my drug and God is my Dealer (haha..with a capital "D")
I love my Lord...Jesus is Lord. He loves you, and He chose to love you first. Do you want to know how much He loves you? Pray for it, and if you're heart is right He will show you.
I do know some (VERY few) Christians who do drugs....I don't understand it tho.... because, really being in the presence of God is the best high/adrenaline rush/feeling/drug there is. AND IT'S FREE!!! Christians who do drugs probably have other areas that need mending (sometimes pride issues -----> THE WORST SIN...PRIDE...that's what keeps God away from you) ....all the Christians I hang out with have been delivered from drugs...I know an ex crack addict, 2 ex heroin addicts....tons of ex pot heads |

That would be a doozy. |

| | | Some Christians are against both completely as they see them as eventually destructing the body...and the body is supposed to be a "temple".
Some think that both in moderation and not excess is ok.
The Bible is against alcohol, so, most beliefs otherwise by Christians are kinda made up. |

| | | A Christian, technically, is a follower of the teachings of Jesus, not a follower of the Bible. Like so much of what we become, our behaviors are established through habits. Escapism is a denial of our true self, therefore against the path that Jesus showed by example. Those activities and beliefs that dull creativity lead us away from knowing and embracing our divinity within.
Pride in one's good efforts is much different than the Pride of superiority. Drugs and alchohol facilitate us believing we have a courage greater than we have developed through earnest dicipline--this is a falsity that leads us away from knowing and accepting our true self. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
