| | | Astral traveling and other realms Many people have experienced an odd sensation whilst sleeping...right when you wake up, you find that you cannot move. Or, you think that you 'dreamed' you were floating in the air over your bed. Those occurences are the result of having travelled astrally.
The first time it happened to me, I was rather frightened, of course! I had no idea what was going on. After researching a bit, I discovered what was going on. And also found that the 'traveling' could be controlled after some practice. It was rather fun at first, but after doing it for awhile I discovered some disturbing things...
After I could somewhat control my travels, one night I had the distinct impression some 'being' was in my bedroom. I don't frighten easily, and I was awake. When I got up to turn on the light, I felt a rush of cold air by my face, as though something had dashed by. The next night, while sleep, I was shaken awake by someone (I thought it was my ex-boyfriend); there was no one else in the room.
After these experiences, I decided to cease with the astral thing. Occording to some books on the subject, I had somehow 'brought back' or attracted some pesky little critters from the other side. Of course, I didn't know this at the time. So, like a quija board, when someone plays around with things they don't completely understand, things can get very strange. All of that nonsense stopped when I ceased to. Be warned. |

But from what I've gathered, when you can't move immediately upon waking it's because you're not 'fully back' yet. You know, your spirit has been out and about but for some reason you wake up before spirit has returned...then you can't move. |

Wow!! I'm not trying to be sarcastic here -- you actually facinate me. You see, all throughout life , i find 1 of my fave sensations is when cold ghosts past thru you.. how can it not be enjoyed? What made yours critters? Ghosts love me. |

| | | wiser than Solomon, baby! you see, in that time, when Solomon was saying "well, we'll cut the baby in half" the woman that said "okay, do it" was being sarcastic. but of course the Bible doesn't actually tell you that.
now get in my bed so i can dirty you up , or be my slave. |

| | | It used to happen to me a lot when I was very anxious a few years ago... I was dreaming and I didn't like my dream so I was able to control my dream... And automatically, I was feeling that my body was kind of shaking and I was "flying"... I was seeing my body in my bed and it was very scary. It was looking so real. I was able to control where I was going by thinking. It was so strange, it was like if I was only "eyes", nothing more, and that I was still thinking with my body. I was always telling myself "return in my body! return in my body!" because I was too scared.
It never happened again since I have a medication... |

I had always thought it was a prolonging into wakefulness of post-synaptic inhibition of motor neurons in the pons region of the brain. In particular, low levels of melatonin stopping the depolarization current in the nerves, so preventing the stimulation of the muscles and preventing the body from enacting dream activity.

i had an obe once.. but never again unfortunately. it's so strange your mind is lucid, you know you're not asleep, & look down at your body lying in bed- it's like you still have eyes though, that's what i think is strange. |

When I was talking about it with friends who never experienced that, they were telling me it was probably a dream but as you wrote, my mind was very lucid and I was knowing it wasn't a dream. Usually, I'm kind of sceptic about things like that, I'm often looking for a "rational" cause...
Is it possible that it was caused by anxiety? Or it stopped because pills?
I remember one day I was talking with this hippie girl called Karina. She told me that she had astral traveling experiences but that it didn't work if she was taking drugs. |

I can't say much more about it, cuz I've never woke up like that, that I can remember, ... what ppl gotta learn to do, if they experience it, is not to panick ... the body will catch up. What happens to me is my body wakes up, but my head is still half-asleep... the other way.
Hopefully I don't jinx myself ... knock on wood ...
I do have very intense dreams tho, almost as real as 'reality' ... I kept dream journal for awhile ... I still make an effort to recall em ... but lately I ain't been writing em down ...
I mean, it may be true for everyone, but my dreams are rich in detail, like, the faces of ppl in a train, almost to the pores on their skin, ppl I've never met ... I look out the window, and there is a street, and buildings, and more ppl ... how does the brain do this ... or a landscape, rain slanting down, and blades of grass bending in the breeze ... all those blades of grass, how does the brain do it!! If it is the brain. Heh | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
