I have a co-worker from mainland China, I think she said "inner Mongolia" (she was a teacher there in her past life)- anyhow we sat next to each other at a seminar last month, and she spent the entire day doing awesome doodles tagged with awkward english phrases. One kind of concerned me though - hanging woman tagged with "nothing is going to change forever" Not sure she saw me looking though.

american hs kids don't have that.

i'm kindof surprised nobody did one about living in such a politically ****ed up country, as the western influence in their themes and art (esp. that kid who did the kindof dia de los muertos inspired anime grim reaper) is much more obvious than i'd have thought?
that none of them wrote about censorship, Taiwan, lack of representative government, economic inequality, human rights issues, etc, etc.

or, are they not even allowed to?
do they ***** about this stuff in class?
