in this case it is true...It's a technique i've been trying to learn for some time and is harder to do than you think.
I wouldn't have posted them if they were blurry by accident. I was actually semi proud that i could do that focus and blur bullshit. ...by no means not claiming my pics are good by any standard but i didn't buy this expensive camera or take lessons/advice from someone i respect greatly to just take blurry pictures....why dont you try it??? take the forefront focus clearly and blurr the background it's actually difficult without photoshop.

its called depth of field. i studied photography briefly and it is the first thing you learn essentially.
and the flower closeup just looks out of focus.
the hand wa snot much of a giveaway. its an okay photo still

well i dont study im learning my own way...it's so awesome you found the essential lesson so easy....maybe it is out of focus...but its a improvment on everything else i tried in that regard for that shot...
