Once it was excised, the surgeon showed it to me and he then promptly disposed of it. I kind of wanted to preserve it in a jar, as a conversation piece but I wasn't given the option.

Yes, I find hairs in cysts particularly ooky Fortunately, mine was white and hairless, almost pumice-like in fact. Cysts themselves though, something oddly compelling about them.
