Like everyone, I wish I knew who this was.
But whether true or not, I dislike the woman. I know I don't know her blah blah blah, but I know that look she shot me at Bamboozle. That was "someone recognised me!" smugness and I hate that ****. This band mean more than that.

This will seem pathetic, but hey.
There's one thing I can do, and that's tell exactly what someone is feeling by their eyes. I know everyone can to some degree but for most of my life I've lied through my teeth about how I'm feeling and I know when someone is saying one thing and thinking another, etc etc etc.
I also work in gig security, and I'm around people like her (how she portrays herself, anyway) nearly every day.
That aside, I was standing by the backstage area at Bamboozle, not to ZOMG CELEBRITY SPOT, but to see if I could bump into Geoff Rickly to say hello, because I promised I'd try. And because the view from there was good.
Anyway, I see someone (Eliza) approaching the gate to get away from that area and into the main site. My eyesight at best when I'm tired is blurry, so I was looking at her for a while. I saw her as she realised I was looking at her. Suddenly she's walking with more urgent confidence. As I realised who she is, she had this sickening look of smugness spread across her face. And I don't mean something subtle, I mean it made the idea of "giving her the benefit of the doubt" fly out the window.
I can't stand that kind of attitude, I see it at work all the time. I feel a tiny bit of pity for people like that. Why do they need the attention? Fame for fame's sake is an empty aspiration. If you want people to rever you, do something worthwhile that you achieved. I want to be known for being a brilliant novelist, poet and literary theorist. I would hate to be well known off someone's else back.
I know I sound petty, but yeah.

they should probably think about redoing the layout for that site, too. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
