I have experienced this with some guys I fancy. Wanted to look like them, even. To actually want to be them indicates obsession, but I think it's normal + a sign of love to start subtly mimicking them in various ways. It's caused by a combination of low self-esteem and high esteem for your boyfriend. If you feel revolting yourself, you're going to assume that he finds you revolting too.

well yes and no. I assume everyone finds me revolting until someone shows interest but they quickly lose it.

I mean I did not wake up one day and said "I am revolting" and just ostricized myself from life, it happened the other way around.
