| well, you know if people choose to go there themselves, if they hate being gay so much and want to repress who they are, then who am i to judge. if they claim it helps, then so be it. but, the people who are forced to go there is another story.
i have a friend who had really religious parents. he came out to them when he was younger. they locked him in a house, called church members over, and tried to perform an exorcism. then, they sent him packing off to one of these places. a really aggressive program. he did room with same sex people. they did fool around. they got caught and went through intense stuff. he is not the same. he has to take medications. he is schizo and hears voices now. but, he finally got away from his parents. he had always accepted who he was. but, he is fucked now. his sister kind of had a break down too. when she was younger. those people should have been put in jail for the things they did to those two. this is totally true. i know both of them. and saw the things that happened with my own eyes. it is so sad.
