The thread that followed had loads of pointless argument about which parties were and weren't pro-gay rights. As someone pointed out though, some people would vote for literally anyone just because they said they were pro-gay. If they were vocally pro-gay marriage and white supremacist, they'd get a healthy chunk of the gay vote.

poor people regularly vote for parties that help the rich get richer. people are odd like that
