I mean, I understand they feel like they were born in the wrong bodies, but lots of people want to look differently than they do naturally whether it's colored contacts or dying your hair or getting a nose job or exercising to fight naturally fat thighs or covering your body with tattoos -- where does it cross the line like there are people who obsess about having their limbs aputated and think they'll only feel whole once that foot is gone or that guy who had all the surgery and tattoos and implants to make himself look like a cat because he felt that was his spirit animal or something. I'm glad trannies have the option of having the surgeries if that's what makes them happy, but I don't get being so hung up on physical appearance nor why society's ideas of gender are so seemingly important to so many of them.

Not sure how I feel about being in a relationship with one, but if I fell in love with a trans person I would try not to let their gender identity get in the way of things for me. I have some friends who have had the surgery or are in the process of changing from one to the other, and their partners seem to be quite happy.

Sure, why not. I think it's interesting how people in this thread critizise trans people on being too attached to the gender ideas society forses on you, but at the same time most say that the wouldn't have a relationship with one. Isn't that being attached to gender ideas too??

And yeah, probably. I doubt it would be a serious issue. But as someone said, it's the person inside that counts. If it was a dude who acted like a chick, I can't really see myself finding them any more attracted than the many many other dudes who act like chicks I've met on the scene.
