i would agree that flirting > sex. maybe i've just had a lot of bad sex. flirting gives me such a different feeling and "rush", if you will. plus, i think some straight men enjoy the attention from the gays when they know it's not going to lead to actual sex.

I like flirting, you can have more power over more people. I have thought a lot about why I like it, and this is probably the most likely explanation. I like that a few boys who fancy me and who I lead on can never have me, especially because they really annoy me.

But I am terrible at flirting with people who I genuinely like. I either never do it, or if I try, I have to have had something to drink and am at risk of making a fool out of myself...mostly though, it's some kind of horrible awkwardness where I'd quite like to flirt with them but am incapable of doing it. I think the difference between my two types of flirting is that I couldn't care less what the first group of people think of me, whereas with the second it is much different.

And I don't like sex at all, so flirting is much more fun. I think I like the idea of the possibility of sex, but the actual thing is boring for me. I am hoping I might get over this, because other people seem to get so much from it? Or maybe it's all a big conspiracy to lie to me? Hmm, former seems more plausible, but you never know..

Btw, the straight guys I know would love to be flirted with - I think it's the ego boost, a) flirting from anyone is generally a good thing and b) flirting from other men is especially good, because they probably care more about what men think. Perhaps.
