| | | good gay reads. recommend, please. i rarely buy anything out of the gay&lesbian section because a lot of it looks like complete trash.
has anyone read leslie feinberg's stone butch blues? i had to read it this semester and i thought it was great. it's a (fictional) story of a butch lesbian growing up in the 50s.

straight or gay, this book is genius. i think someone described it perfectly in the reviews: Malebranche has given the iron fist to the orthodox gay movement and its radical liberalism, knee-jerk activism, and anti-male ideology, and given voice to countless men who are more "Fight Club" than "Will & Grace." fyi, its a manifesto. & a good one. idk if you're looking for something fictional or what, but that's a good read hands down. & i don't even like books.

I don't think the bookstores here would carry it. I wish I had a credit card so I could order it. I will defiantly write down the name of this book, and try to obtain it later. |

| | | The new Poppy Z. Brite books in the Liquor series. Now that she's stopped writing about vampires she's writing about two gay men in a loving, functional relationship trying to make a life for themselves in the New Orleans resturaunt scene. Good stuff.

| | | the columbia anthology of gay and lesbian literature is a good book to have.
otherwise, i don't really do gay-lit. i used to read this series of books by this guy from denver that weren't very good.
the joy of gay sex, men like us: complete guide to gay men's sexual, physical, and emotional well-being is an ok reference guide. i use it to brush up on my STDs and yoga stances. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
