| | | By Popular Demand: Golden Girl Quote Time Per my conversation with Vermin, here it is. Let it rip.
Golden Girl quotes, now. Bitches.
[Sophia and Dorothy come through the front door]
Rose: Why are you both wearing black? Did you just get back from a funeral?
Dorothy: No Rose, we were singing back-up for Johnny Cash.
Blanche: My life is a romance novel.
Sophia: Your life is a sports page.
Blanche: I tried giving up sex.
Dorothy: I guess you fell off the wagon.
Sophia: And on to a naval base!
Blanche: Blanche Devereux has NEVAH shared a man.
Sophia: Or a pizza.

| | | Dorothy: I can't believe Blanche's date is so long in the tooth!
Rose: I thought his teeth looked fine; what I couldn't believe was how old he is!!
Dorothy: You know, sometimes I just cannot believe my ears.
Sophia: I know, I should have pinned them back when you were seven.
Yes We Have No Havanas (ep. 1 from season 4) is my favorite episode. My least favorites are Empty Nest (season 2) and Brother Can you Spare that Jacket (season4).
Sophia: Do you know what the top ten signs of death are?
One, your kids start visiting on weekdays.
Two, you can't eat cream of wheat because it's too spicy.
Three, your doctor won't take a post-dated check ....
Dorothy: Miami is nice, so I'll say it twice, Miami is nice, Miami is nice. Miami is... Wait a minute, wait a minute! You put in an extra "Miami is nice"!
Rose: I had to. It hurts the music if you don't put it in.
Dorothy: But the lyrics don't make any sense! I mean, it goes, "Miami is nice, so I'll say it twice."
Rose: Oh, I see your point. Well, how about this: "Miami is nice, so I'll say it thrice!"
Dorothy: "Thrice"? Who the hell says "thrice"?!!
Rose: It's a word!
Dorothy: So is "interuterine." It does not belong in a song.
Rose: (Begins to play and sing) Miami, you're cuter than... an interuterine...
Thanks for the medicare!! For Blue Cross and Blue Shield! For a hip that finally healed!! Remember on prescriptions, Generic is a steal !!! We thank you so much!

| | | Blanche: I'm abhorred.
Sophia: We know what you are, Blanche. I'm glad to finally hear you admit it.
Blanche: Sophia, I said abhorred.
Sophia: Abhorred, a slut, a tramp. It's all the same.
Dorothy: What were you doing in there?
Sophia: It's a bathroom!! What do you think I was doing, painting a fresco on the ceiling???
lol these are all from memory and might be a little off

| | I just remembered how much I love this show a couple nights ago. I was flipping through the channels to listen to something to fall asleep to, and there was 'Golden Girls'....I was pretty tired, but remembered laying there laughing....but I can't remember a thing they were saying. I'll be going out to buy whatever seasons of this show are available
BTW, Nice thread....this was nice to wake up to..... |

It really is a fucking funny show. Sophia especially, that's a saucy old gal if ever there was one.

BTW, Nice thread....this was nice to wake up to..... | One through five are available at the moment.
If you'd rather not buy all five, it is on 7 times a day during the week.
Monday through Friday you can catch it on Lifetime 8-9 AM, 10-11 PM, and 12midnight.
I personally just bought the dvds but still catch the Lifetime episodes whenever possible. I like the randomness of it.

Oh thank you! I had no idea it was ran during the day. I'll set my DVR to record it. Then ask for the seasons for Xmas or something, save me some cash
Thanks! |

HAHA...yeah, now that I think about it, I did see some random stuff in some threads, so now I know what was going on. I used to laugh, thinking 'where did that come from?!' |

it gets stale by then, but still. | Season 4 is my favorite. I like some from season 2, but honestly they just don't have the "re-watchableness" (Write it down, I just coined that) of the later seasons (3, 4, 5). I think by then the writers knew the characters better.
Also, the direction is better. Terry Moore directed the episodes better than the clowns who did season 1!!
I don't care much for season one.

It made me feel like I was in a little club or something. lol

Rose: Blanche, your initials spell B.E.D
Blanche: Oh that is just my name...Blanche Elisabeth Deveraux.

| | | Is anyone familiar with this 'black out' phantom episode? I heard it's ranked as one of the best GG episodes, yet it's not listed on offical site or dvds. I don't even know the title as it was refered to as is, so I might be wrong.
