I was referring more to the trivia than the overall tone of the film. The sharks with lasers, the rocket into space, the femme robots, Blofeld/Spectre was actually more absurd than Dr. Evil...although Mr. Bigglesworth was quite a home run. I mean if you watched EVERY james bond film...then Mike Myers gags just became ludicrous. I mean Goldfinger is the biggest tub of lard..and then Goldmember is this "has to be pedophile" with a golden wang (after the man with the Golden Gun..who to me was one of the more credible villains)
