he's the lead singer of the band pagoda who have their first album (previously called house of worship, now self-titled) coming out august 1st i believe. i dunno. they keep changing it. anyway, i really quite like them. they sound like nirvana and iggy+the stooges who happen to be among their influences (including the pixies, pj harvey, sonic youth, etc.). hmm.. what else to say. oh, the drummer is ryan donowho, who played johnny on the o.c. before they killed him off. and they're one of the hottest bands ever (my taste anyway.)

(best photo i could find.)

all their music can be found on his site in the audio section.

(..i'm a fan..)

I love Love LOVE this movie.

I love bernardo bertolucci for revisting last tango in paris in a totally fresh, new way. (yeah i realize the movies are totally different in many ways but there are a lot of comparable aspects to the two films.)
I love Michael Pitt in this film. I love Eva Green.. it's this movie that made me appreciate them as actors.
I lvoe the dialogue, the music is amazing, i lvoe the back drop of 1960s paris riots.. i love how they worship film and love and freedom.
I know I'm GUSHING here, but it's so so so good.

it has orchid's stamp of approval, for sure.

This guy on imdb.com reviewed it this way, and it sums up exactly what i think of it too:

"The Dreamers" is one of Bernardo Bertolucci's most underrated films. A mesmerizing love declaration for The Cinema, this unforgettable film must be discovered.

In 1968, 19-year-old American Matthew (Michael Pitt), while settling in Paris for studying French, meets two equally young, beautiful and liberal film buffs: the twins Isabelle (Eva Green, another Bertolucci's luminous discovery, like he did with Liv Tyler in "Stealing Beauty") and Theo (Louis Garrel, son of French director Philippe Garrel and the best of the cast). The twins' parents travel, and Matthew is invited to join the attractive duo in their apartment. He accepts the invitation, of course, and the threesome starts a bizarre game of seduction with a charming leitmotiv: riddles about classic films. Who doesn't know the right answer, has to do what he/she is asked to. In the background, student riots in defence of Henri Langlois and his merit on the Cinémathèque Française are breaking out on the streets.

The film is superb, artistically and technically. Bertolucci is top-notch, the soundtrack is overwhelming (with songs by Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Édith Piaf, among others), and the cinematography (by Fabio Cianchetti) is one of the best, if not the best, I've seen recently. Gilbert Adair, we can't forget, did an excellent job adapting his novel, "The Holy Innocents", to the big screens. The sex/full frontal scenes and amorality can shock some people, this is definitely not a film for all tastes (as almost all masterpieces), but those who are open-minded and admire good cinema, will be entranced. The ending is one of the most surprising, original and brilliant I've ever seen, but, unfortunately, not everyone will get it. That's a crying shame, but original films tend to be misunderstood. "The Dreamers" is no exception.

well now i'm totally in the mood for that shit.

I just saw this movie finally and I loved it. Sure there is a lot of nudity but nudity doesn't bother me. It was very European. I'd rather see Michael Pitt and lovely Eva Green naked then having to watch people getting decapitated and their throats slit in movies. I think Eva Green is really really good in this. And this was her first movie. The ending really bummed me out though. Without giving too much away I guess the reason why the ending is so disappointing to people is because the whole film is so engaging with these three characters and you really get swept up in their world and then..... well you know what happens. Michael Pitt is one brave actor because I can't really think of many American actors that would do a close up shot of their penis! I like the fact that all three are seen naked instead of them just showing the girl fully naked and not showing the men like it often happens in movies.

i didn't like it either. it was a few years ago when i watched it but i remember that i really didn't find much in the film to be excited about. the characters were shallow, storyline felt like it was wrapped around the sex scenes. i can't believe i managed to watch it to the end.

yeah he played the main character in Last Days (a film by gus van sant) which was loosely based on kurt cobain. wasn't a fan of it but i love michael pitt which made it a bit more bearable to sit through.

It was about what Matthew said to the twins earlier about having to separate to grow. He gave Isabelle an ultimatum in the riot, and she chose to remain with Theo.

Also, the movie's only part 1 of the original book.
