| | | Match Point Just rented it yesterday because I thought it would be nice to see some middle-class white people squirm, which is why everyone else rented it, pretty much. And Scarlett.
It was a bit... crap. It was different but too.... meh for my tastes. The first half of the movie just bored the Hell out of me. Scarlett was the only great thing about it, he was okay but fantastic. His second last scene was just bad, at the thing talking with the guys.
All my opinion, of course, my view, but ughhh.
It was good, but not remarkable. Worth a rental, but I'd never ever buy it. |

| | | I have to agree. But i just think its because none of the characters were likeable except Scarletts. Didnt expect the twist at the end though. Actually made me quite angry. |

| | | Same. It was like.. okay, this is not only uncalled for but a bit clumsy. And I wanted to see them shot, this isn't exactly the most polite way to die, why not show it? Lack of special effects?
I didn't see a reason for the social commentary either, which I felt was there. And it was just too "let's follow that opening line about luck and shit" for me. Bit boring.
The characters were second-hand crap except for Scarlett. She's the only one who did ACTING acting, especially when she met him outside of that building and caught him lying or when she was talking to him about the baby.
This movie actually kind of sucked. The only thing good about it was Scarllett and I think I'll steer clear of all new Woody Allen movies from now on. |

| | | i dont know why but i really liked it.
perhaps johnathan rhys meyer and scarlett johannsen carried it enough for me to discredit the other actors? |

| | | i watched it a couple of weeks ago and can honestly say it was one of the worst films i have ever seen! all the characters were so "stereotypically" higher-class english, and every single one of them was vile.
i thought the plot was ridiculous and the acting was awful. |

| | | Jonathan Rhys Meyers was dreadful to watch in this movie. Painful acting. Really forced. I liked the ending, glad he wasn't caught etc. Kinda ok to watch, but at the end its all a bit ridiculous. |

| | | i loved it. it was not the regular woody allen movie. less talky, more plot driven. i thought it was a well structured film noir. it's one of those films where all the characters are rotten and you can't find anyone to root for so you don't. i ended up wishing they'd all die, except emily mortimer's character because she is so adorable. i liked the twist in the ending. this is the best woody allen's been since husbands and wives or everyone says i love you actually. |

| | | I thought the twist just changed the whole movie for the worse.
Nothing happening
Cheating
Cover-up
Kill her for some stupid reason
Insane luck (not sure why a heroin addict would be out finding rings)
But I liked that kitchen scene at the end, where they tell him he'll pay. |

My brother in his stoned glory sat up watching it until 4am and proceeded to tell me Scarlet gets shot. Is this true?! She the only piece of ass I care about.. |

| | | Yeah, in some freak decision to fuck up the plot even more, he shoots her with a hunting gun from the father-in-law's estate, they find a heroin addict with the ring from the women's apartment the main guy robbed and killed to make it look like a robbery, so they drew conclusions and closed the case. So he did that... instead of just leaving her or his wife.
He probably killed her because she had an awesome acting moment when she ambushed him outside of a building. Jealous because his second last scene BLEW compared to her rabid screaming. The interrogation scene. Blew the monkey's small ballsac. |

| | | Ooo I watched it the other night for the first time and loved it!! I did think the ending was a bit of a let down though and I can't be completely sure that I didn't just love it because of my big Jonathan Rhys Meyers obsession mmmmmmm. But yeh I'd definitely buy it. |

I thought it was good though. |
