| | | coming of age movies I've been well into these sorts of movies lately but it's rarely used as a genre in film so they are harder to come accross. You know the types I mean though?
My favourites that I would class as coming of age movies are.
Y tu mama tambien - probably everyone has seen this now and knows it's really good.
Ma Vie En Rose - Film about a 10 year old frenchboy that decides he wants to be a girl. It's wicked, because he's 10, it's more about being yourself than any sort of film going on about transgender issues.
Dead Poets Society - Amazing film, I'm sure everyone's seen it here.
The Graduate - this movie was so far ahead of it's time, it's so funny it still sems really modern.
Rushmore - Probably all Wes Anderson movies actually, he's a genius, but this one is the most traditionally coming of agey seeing as it has a young adolescent in the main role.

Stand By Me is a really good coming of age story. It's really the only one I can think of, apart from the ones you've already mentioned. |

And W. Wanker: THE GOONIES! Fuck yeah! |

| | rnj, so you're okay with era movies? if you liked 'the graduate' then i guess so so you might enjoy 'summer of '42'. http://imdb.com/title/tt0067803/
also, if you've not seen it, 'american graffiti'.

| | Adventures of Sebastian Cole, very good. His father tries to have a sex change operation at the end but dies in surgery, it was the saddest point of the movie. |
