| | | futurama is coming back. BACK TO THE 'FUTURAMA'
ANOTHER 'TOON RESURRECTED
By DON KAPLAN
Leela will return to action when "Futurama" is raised from the dead in 2008.
June 22, 2006 -- 'FUTURAMA" is officially back from the dead.
The quirky animated show from "Simpsons" creator Matt Groening was canceled by Fox about two years ago, but will return with at least 13 new episodes on Comedy Central by 2008.
This is only the second time in television history that a show sent to TV's trash heap has been resurrected. Curiously, the first was "Family Guy," also an animated Fox show.
The tale of "Futurama's" dramatic revival roughly follows that same path that "Family Guy" did. more...

| | | Fox are rubbish- they cancelled two of my favorite shows, Futurama and Arrested Development- plus Firefly which was really cool too. And then they show utter shite like 'JAG'. But then what else did I expect from that jerk off Murdoch. Grr, ok rant over. |

| | | It's so funny because that show got fairly lukewarm ratings, the only reason i think it lasted as long as it did was because it had groening behind it, pushing it.
Reruns have had me in stitches. Odd though, a lot of simpsons fans I know really don't get the humor. |

| | | its because futurama has the same appeal as family guy. i think thats why simpsons fans dont get it. and i think thats why both shows didnt do well. They were released around the same time and were put on in the same hour slot. |

| | | AWESOME.
I love Futurama. It's one of my favorite cartoons, along with The Critic, Family Guy, and American Dad.
All of which are funnier than what the Simpsons has become. |

| | | If new Futurama episodes are anything like new Simpsons episodes, I won't be watching. Unfortunately Futurama didn't do too well here, but hopefully they'll put the new series on in a decent timeslot. I'll be looking forward to it. |
