i think bc it crops up in multiple movies with one movie it being the central issue makes it something that he grapples with/has grapped with in the past.

it was shocking to me TBH when i first saw clerks that the character was grossed out by the girl he liked giving head to 15 or so people. i was like wtf? ive easily done twice as many guys. now, even more than that. and i see absolutely nothing wrong with it and people who have a problem with it i think are *weird*

I think that it was the same thing but a much lighter version of the issue. Dante was an idiot and a hypocrite who blew a small thing out of proportion because he was unhappy with his life in general, happened to be a small-minded, suburban prickface, and was too busy idealizing his ex (who undoubtedly sucked a LOT more than 37 dicks while dating Dante, let alone lifetime total) to allow himself to get close to an amazing woman who made him lasagna.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was something that he might have thought about a fair bit at some point, but he's always struck me as being pretty sex positive overall. But like I said, I have kinda rose-tinted glasses regarding KS.

do guys really think stuff like that? are they really grossed out by women who get around? i know like... in the 50's or whatever it was a big deal, but really? COME ON

It is true of a SHOCKING number of the dudes, I am sad to say. I am definitely not one of those dudes. I vastly prefer being with girls who have plenty of experience. Not because the experience necessarily translates into being better in bed or anything, but idk, the idea of taking someone's virginity always sort of made me cringe.
