I don't usually go for any of that Vampirey kind of stuff. Or any science fiction dramas for that matter like Angel or Buffy or whatevs. But this show is pretty sick. It's about a vampire, a ghost, and a werewolf living together and trying to cope with living in this, our human-centric world. Sounds cheesy as ****ing hell but it's actually really cool to see what kind of society the different races have and how it conflicts with the larger world.

Any fans?

I keep meaning to watch it... they advertise the hell out of it during episodes of the special effects competition face off.

I'm so wary of it, because it seems like a douchy attempt to cash in on Twilight. But I really did love Buffy, and shame on you.

I don't dislike Buffy, I just haven't SEEN it. I meant to say that's not the kind of thing I gravitate towards, not stuff I DISLIKE per se'.

I don't think it's THAT much of a Twilight cash in. Vampire Diaries... True Blood... I'd point my finger more in that direction for the Twilight lovefest. Being Human reminds me a lot more of those shows like Angel... Adult sci-fic dramas I guess you might call them? Not that I have a huge amount of experience with those kinds of shows, but I've seen them and that is definitely the vibe Being Human has.

I've been enjoying Being Human. The shows True Blood and Vampire Diaries may have capitalized on the recent vampire/wearwolves craze, but both TV series are based on book series that predate Twilight. The first VD book came out in the early 90's and the first Sookie Stackhouse book came out in (IIRC) 2001. Vampires do not sparkle.
